I believe that how we play is largely informed by the state of our souls.
- Are we generally at peace with life?
- Are we living in constant conflict?
- Are we in rebellion against almost everything?
- Are we constantly wound up, or able to take life as it comes?
It is easy to think these questions have nothing to do with music. And yet they often appear in tone, rhythm, intensity, and even in silence.
The guitar is not just an instrument. It can become a place where struggle, joy, hesitation, and the inner shape of a life are carried into sound.
